I am very happy that my daughter, Aiko Paris is allowed to participate in class at Funao Elementary School while she is on vacation from the United States visiting her Grandparents. To show my gratitude I offered to read some books to the entire class. Everyone was very interested to listen to the books and wanted to know all about them.
The first one I read was called "How to catch an Elf" to help get in the Christmas mood. It is about an Elf who accompanies Santa on Christmas Eve while he travels around the world delivering Christmas gifts. The Elf knows that the children like the gifts but want to know more about Santa so they try to catch the Elf. The Elf and Santa evade every trap and end up riding a pizza back home that was part of the trap.
The next book I read was a Dr. Seuss tongue twister book called Fox in Socks. If you read it really fast it is difficult because there is a lot of rhyming and words that start with the same letters. I got my tongue tied while trying to perform but the kids were laughing the whole way.
Afterwards some of the kids provided feedback saying that the books were funny and really fast. Also that the end of the first where Santa got the pizza was funny and that the tongue twister was funny.
This opportunity was fun for me too. I hope to have the chance to do it again. Until then everyone work hard on English!
